Still feeling uncertain as to what the medium had told him, he sat wondering what it meant. Towards the end of the evening the same medium was passing on a message to another person, when suddenly Darren started seeing pictures in his mind – a tattoo of a ship’s anchor on a man’s forearm, then an image of half of a lady's face, then a feeling of sadness. Instinctively he knew who the message was for. At the end of the circle he went over to the person and explained to her what he had seen. She confirmed that her grandma had suffered a stroke before she had died and had lost the use of half of her face, and that her grandfather had the tattoo exactly as he had described! Needless to say Darren was intrigued, so much so that he attended the open circle every week. At each circle he 'saw' or 'heard' or 'felt' something and in time developed the confidence to stand up and to pass on what he had received. Within a year, as predicted, he was invited to share the platform with a couple of mediums at another church before being offered his own bookings throughout his native Yorkshire.

For the past 16 years Darren has demonstrated his gift in Spiritualist churches, public halls and theatres, and also doing private sittings from his home. He has worked on radio, and at one time wrote a column for a local newspaper where people were invited to write in and to receive messages from their loved ones through his mediumship. His gift has taken him to all counties in the UK as well as to Portugal, Spain and Gibraltar as well as offers of work from Norway. He is able to convey messages from the other side; often with such accuracy there is no doubt that a world exists after this one. His reputation for delivering names, dates, street names, and personal information to identify loved ones has earned him a reputation as a medium of high quality. As well as being able to convey messages from the Spirit World, he sees his work as much more than that. He has a desire to remind people through his own experiences of life, and through his connection to Spirit, that we are all Divine in origin and how we can attune to that source of love to help us to heal.
